You’re Not Bad With Money. You’re Just Doing What Everyone Else Is Doing.

Let’s clear something up:
You’re not reckless.
You’re not irresponsible.
You’re just… normal.

And “normal” is broke.

Think About It

You went to college because everyone said that’s what smart people do.
You got the nice apartment because your coworkers all upgraded.
You bought the SUV because safety.
You finance your phone, wear Lululemon, and have a credit card with 3% cashback that you definitely meant to pay off last month.

And now?
You’re wondering why your savings account looks like a desert in a drought.

It’s Not Your Fault (But It Kinda Is)

Let’s be honest:
You never got a real financial education.
Instead, you got:

  • Buy the house → “It’s an investment.”
  • Get the job → “Security, right?”
  • Swipe the card → “Reward points!”
  • Go out every weekend → “YOLO.”

You followed the script.
Problem is, the script was written by people who are just as confused as you.

So What Now?

I’m not gonna tell you to stop drinking coffee.
That’s not the problem.

The problem is doing what everyone else is doing — without asking if it even makes sense for you.

  • That $1,200 iPhone?
Worth it if it helps you build a business. Useless if it’s just for better selfies.
  • That fancy dinner?
Great if you’re celebrating. Sad if it’s just Tuesday and you’re bored.
  • That new car lease?
Cool flex. Until it costs you your chance to invest.

Try This Instead

Look at your bank statement and ask:

“Did this purchase make me happier, richer, or freer?”

If it’s not at least one of those things —
You bought it for the wrong reasons.

Probably peer pressure.
Maybe boredom.
Definitely capitalism.

Final Note

You’re not failing.
You’re just surrounded by people spending money they don’t have to impress people who don’t care.

It’s exhausting.
It’s avoidable.

Do weird things with your money.
Save aggressively. Invest early. Say no to things that feel “normal” but eat your future alive.

And most importantly —
Think for yourself.
